However, the Gujarat government has said that this will be only a testing message and there is nothing to worry about.

According to the government, a testing message will be broadcast across the state on October 16 at 11 am. There is no need to panic or worry that the user will not have to give any kind of answer. This is only being tested for future implementations.

This message can be in Hindi and English language. It may be written-

“Emergency alert: Extreme”, was delivered in both English and Hindi. It conveyed the following: “This is a SAMPLE TESTING MESSAGE sent through Cell Broadcasting System by Department of Telecommunication, Government of India. Please ignore this message as no action is required from your end. This message has been sent to test Pan-India Emergency Alert System being implemented by National Disaster Management Authority. It aims to enhance public safety and provide timely alerts during emergencies.”
