'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign || Amrit Kalash Yatra

The nation has completed 75 years of its Independence and is all set to march towards Amrit Kaal in the spirit of Panch Pran. In order to mark the beginning of a new era, a nationwide campaign on remembering Unsung Heroes of Freedom Struggle and Martyrs in the National Cause as well as preparing the masses for Amrit Kaal by sensitising them on Panch Pran of the Prime Minister, the program of Meri Maati Mera Desh Mitti Ko Naman Veeron Ka Vandan is proposed.
This National Level Campaign covering every Gram Panchayat of the country shall be topped with a Mega Event proposed to be held at New Delhi in August involving participation of 75,000 youths from across the country.

Meri Maati Mera Desh, Mitti Ko Naman Veeron Ka Vandan envisions a unified celebration of India's soil and valor, commemorating the nation's journey of freedom and progress. It envisages paying tribute to the VEERs who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country by collecting soil from villages across the country and bringing the same to Delhi (Kartavya Path) to create an  Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) memorial and an Amrit Vatika as a lasting tribute and legacy of this commemorative activity . 

The Union government has launched the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, envisaged as a culminating event of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence, in which soil collected from different parts of the country in August will be used to develop a garden along the Kartavya Path in Delhi.

‘Vasudha Vandhan’ envisages every gram panchayat or village renewing “Mother Earth by planting 75 saplings of indigenous species and developing an Amrit Vatika”.

‘Veeron Ka Vandan’ will felicitate freedom fighters, and the families of deceased freedom fighters. “Retired Defence, CAPF, and State Police personnel, and the families of those from these forces who lost their lives in the line of duty, may be honoured,” the official said.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav started on 12th March 2021 with a march from Sabarmati to Dandi. Now, the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign is envisaged as a culminating event of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The campaign contains several programmes to be organized in rural areas covering Vasudha Vandan, and Shila Phalakam (memorial).

Five-Point Agenda
  1. Shilaphalakam Installation: Memorials will be erected, adorned with the names of those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.The veers (bravehearts) will be remembered and respected for their immense contribution to the country's freedom, unity, and integrity.
  2. Pledge of Commitment: A solemn pledge will be taken by people at the memorial sites, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the nation and its values.
  3. Vasudha Vandhan: Every gram panchayat or village will participate in 'Vasudha Vandhan' by planting 75 saplings of indigenous species, rejuvenating Mother Earth, and developing Amrit Vatikas (Eternal Gardens).
  4. Veeron Ka Vandan: Freedom fighters and the families of deceased freedom fighters will be honored and felicitated.Retired defense personnel, CAPF, and State Police personnel, along with the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty, will also receive recognition for their invaluable service to the nation
  5. National Flag Hoisting: The National Flag will be proudly hoisted, and the National Anthem will resonate in unison, filling the air with patriotism and pride
Mitti Yatras will be also held wherein Youth volunteers and others would collect mittis from villages and bring to panchayat and post event at panchayat bring mitti to the block level where mitti would be collected in kalash for forward journey to Delhi.  Ministry of Youth Affairs would anchor the block level events through the district youth officers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and bring the 7500 youth representing the blocks from across the country to New Delhi.

From August 27th to August 30th, the collected Mitti-Kalash will be transported to Delhi's Kartvya Path. On August 30th, the program in Delhi will involve inauguration of Amrit Vatika where local varieties of plants will be planted and the consecration of an AKAM memorial dedicated to the UNKNOWN VEERS whose contribution have made it possible for our freedom and progress. A special dedication ceremony led by the Prime Minister will be held to honour the unknown soldiers and unknown balidanis.

"Meri Maati Mera Desh", with the tagline `Mitti ko naman, veeron ka vandan`, is a nationwide and people led "Jan bhagidari" initiative to commemorate 75 years of India's independence. It is the finale of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav program. 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' celebrates the many achievements of the nation. It involves paying tribute to the 'Veers' who protect our nation. The ceremonies would be conducted at the level of village, Panchayat, Block, Urban Local body, State and National level.

We affirm our bond to the nourishing earth and honor our braves with the following simple actions:
  1. Dedication of Shilaphalakam-installation of nameplate of Veers;
  2. Taking the Panch Pran Pledge;
  3. Vasudha Vandan-creation of Amrit Vatika with 75 saplings of indigenous trees;
  4. Veeron Ka Vandan- honoring freedom fighters/braves who protect the nation and families of braves;
  5. Hoisting of National Flag and singing of National Anthem.

Mitti from the villages of India will be collected at block level and then finally brought to the Capital along with volunteers from each block who would assemble at Kartavya Path. An Amrit Vatika would be planted in the Capital and the Hon'ble Prime Minister would administer the Panch Pran pledge to volunteers.
