આ લેખિત પરીક્ષા MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) અને OMR (Optical Mark Reader) પદ્ધતિમાં લેવામાં આવશે. તમામ પ્રશ્નોના જવાબ આપવાના રહેશે. દરેક પ્રશ્નમાં એક "Not Attempted"નો વિકલ્પ પણ આપવામાં આવશે. જો કોઇ ઉમેદવાર કોઇ પ્રશ્નનો જવાબ ન આપવા માગતા હોય તો "Not Attempted" વિકલ્પની પસંદગી કરવાની રહેશે. "Not Attempted" વિકલ્પને પસંદ કરવામાં આવે તો કોઈ નેગેટિવ માર્કિંગ રહેશે નહીં. દરેક સાચા જવાબ માટે એક ગુણ મળશે તેમજ દરેક ખોટા જવાબ માટે 0.25 ગુણ નેગેટિવ રહેશે.

MCQમાં પુછાનારા 100 માર્ક્સના પ્રશ્નપત્રમાં બે કલાકનો સમય મળશે
OMR શીટમાં જવાબના ચાર વિકલ્પ સાથે "Not Attempted"નો અન્ય વિકલ્પ મળશે
ગુજરાત પોલીસમાં લોકરક્ષક દળમાં હથિયારી/બિનહથિયારી કોન્સ્ટેબલ-લોકરક્ષક અને SRPF કોન્સ્ટેબલની 10459 જગ્યાની ભરતી માટે 9.46 લાખ અરજી કન્ફર્મ થઈ છે. આ ભરતીની લેખિત પરીક્ષા માર્ચ મહિનામાં યોજાય એવો અંદાજ છે. જોકે UPSC અને GPSCની પરીક્ષાની જેમ LRDની લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં પણ નેગેટિવ માર્કિંગનો નિયમ રાખવામાં આવ્યો છે, જેમાં દરેક નેગેટિવ માર્કિંગ માટે 0.25 માર્ક કાપવામાં આવશે.
લેખિત પરીક્ષા બે કલાકની રહેશે
લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં દરેક પ્રશ્નના એક ગુણ લેખે કુલ ગુણ 100 રહેશે. પરીક્ષાનો સમય બે કલાકનો રહેશે. આ પ્રશ્નપત્રમાં સામાન્ય જ્ઞાન, વર્તમાન પ્રવાહો, કમ્પ્યુટર જ્ઞાન, મનોવિજ્ઞાન, ઇતિહાસ, ભૂગોળ, સમાજશાસ્ત્ર, માનસિક ક્ષમતા, વિજ્ઞાન તેમજ ભારતના બંધારણના પાયાના સિદ્ધાંતો, ભારતીય ફોજદારી અધિનિયમ 1860, ફોજદારી કાર્યરીતિ અધિનિયમ-1976 અને ભારતીય પુરાવા અધિનિયમ-1872ને લગતા પ્રાથમિક પ્રકારના પ્રશ્નો આવરી લેવાશે.
લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં નેગેટિવ માર્કિંગનો નિયમ

વ્હાઇટનર પેનનો ઉપયોગ નહીં કરી શકો
ઉમેદવારે કોઈપણ વિકલ્પ પસંદ કર્યો નહીં હોય તો 0.25 ગુણ નેગેટિવ ગણવામાં આવશે. એક કરતાં વધુ વિકલ્પ પસંદ કરેલા હશે તો 0.25 ગુણ નેગેટિવ ગણવામાં આવશે. OMR શીટમાં સફેદ શાહીનો ઉપયોગ નિષેધ છે. જો કોઇ ઉમેદવાર કોઇ પ્રશ્નના જવાબમાં સફેદ શાહી (white Ink)નો ઉપયોગ કરશે તો એ જવાબ ખોટો ગણી નેગેટિવ ગુણ આપવામાં આવશે. લેખિત પરીક્ષાનું માધ્યમ ગુજરાતી રહેશે.
નેગેટિવ માર્કિંગ લેખે ભૂલદીઠ 0.25 માર્ક કાપી લેવાશે
આમ, લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં ઉમેદવારે કરેલી પ્રત્યેક ચાર ભૂલ માટે એનો 1 માર્ક ઓછો થશે. ઉદાહરણ તરીકે જો કોઈ ઉમેદવારની MCQ શીટમાં 10 ભૂલ થઈ હોય તો એના કુલ માર્ક્સમાંથી 2.50 માર્ક્સ ઓછા થઈ જશે. આમ, જો તેને લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં 67 માર્ક્સ મળ્યા હોય તો એ ઘટીને 64.5 માર્ક્સ થઈ જશે, જેની સીધી અસર ઉમેદવારના મેરિટ લિસ્ટ પર થશે.
